Boat mishap kills 1, 20 others injured in Lagos

A boat accident around the Kikiri Imore area in Apapa, Lagos state has claimed the life of one person while 20 others were rescued from the boat. According to reports, the accident occurred due to a fishing net which affected the boat’s engine. They were said to be heading to Ogun state.


The victim was said to have died on the way to the hospital where he was been rushed too and he is yet to be identified. The rest 20, were rescued by local divers around the vicinity where the incident happened. The south west spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA),  Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident saying the agency received the report of the capsized boat around 7.00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8
